THE CHALLENGE

A digital character has to be believable, not a generic assistant.

d.echoes wanted a platform where users can talk to “echoes” of real or historical personalities and, later, create their own echo. The problem was not just a chatbot: each character had to know what the real person knows, speak in their style, have their voice and remember the conversation. And all of it had to work on the web and on the phone, with accounts, credits and subscriptions.

THE CLONING ENGINE

A digital character that behaves like the real person.

The cloning engine developed by the GraalSoft team turns everything documented about a person into a coherent character, with their voice. Six things an echo built by us does:

  • Character documentationA research and documentation pipeline for every echo: 500–1,000 source examples per character.
  • Payments and accountsStripe for credits and subscriptions, Stripe Connect for revenue sharing with creators, Firebase for accounts.
  • Operations and handoverAzure Key Vault, Sentry, staging environment, runbook, architecture diagram and a handover session for the client’s team.
THE RESULT

A product launched on three platforms, with a growing library of characters.

d.echoes is live on web, iOS and Android. GraalSoft built and documented the complete product, ready for the client’s team to operate. The cloning technology can be adapted to other domains as well, for example AI mentors for education.
